Volunteering is a great way to make a positive impact in the community! Not only is it fun, but you get to spend more time outside, meet new people, and help build a strong, positive, safe, and rewarding environment for kids. BAYS is always looking for volunteers, especially head coaches and assistant coaches to help keep youth sports at the recreational level thriving. If you are interested, you will need to complete the following:

1. Register on our website as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach.

2. Complete a county background check at: AACO Rec & Parks Background Check (good for 3 years)

3. If you'd like to be a head coach and have not attended the AACO Rec & Parks Coaches Certification Clinic, then you must attend before the season begins. This clinic is FREE and generally runs for two hours, and there is no pre-registration required. There are three levels - Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Once a Head Coach completes all three levels (a clinic a year), the clinic is no longer required, otherwise the clinic is required every 3 years. Next Clinic: TBD - normally the first or second week in August.

Volunteered in the past? Check the Active Volunteer Database to see if your background check is still current and when you last attended the coaches certification clinic.

4. Attend a Positive Coaching Alliance Course. This course is also FREE and is normally held at a local library. Next Course: TBD
