Welcome to the BAYS Community Basketball League

BAYS Community Basketball is dedicated to teaching fundamental aspects of the game of basketball. Our Mission is to develop the skills of youth players through instruction to build the necessary skills to succeed. We promote team play while building self-confidence. We offer seperate community Leagues for boys and girls. The league is geared toward building skills, having fun with minimal emphasis on winning. We look forward to having your son and or daughter play with BAYS.

Age: 8-13 (Players age is determinded by the players age on Sept 1 of the current year)

Season: (October-February) Evaluation will be the Week of Oct 27th with practices beginning mid-November with games starting in early December.

Evaluations: All players in the 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13 year old leagues must be evaluated to be placed on a team. Attending evaluations is extremly important and required to keep parity among teams. We will do our best to honor friend/carpool requests, however balanced teams are the main priority, so we will not guarantee placement requests. Those that attended evaluations will be given first priority if the request is available.

Practices: Teams will have a minimum of one, 60 minute practice during the week. Optional weekend time will be available starting in January for those coaches that wish to have an extra practice. Practices will be held at one of the schools located on the Broadneck Peninsula.

Info: All Players will be given a jersey to keep. All Players will be encouraged to play all positions and afforded equal playing time.

Open Gyms: In the fall we offer free basketball clinics for those players who want to work on their skills such as shooting, dribbling, passing, screening, and defensive footwork. Please check the calendar to see the dates and times these clinics will be offered.
