“GYM WATCHERS”

Our use of county gym space has been jeopardized when unsupervised players or siblings have caused damage to the facilities. Effective starting with the 2007-08 season, the following rules must be adhered to by all or they will risk removal from the Basketball program:

·        No players are to be left unsupervised at any of the county facilities. If a coach from the player's team is not present in the building, the players should not to be left without an adult over 18 with a current background check.

·        Siblings should not attend practices or games without adult supervision. Siblings who are roaming the halls, stage (Arnold) or cafeterias of the facilities will be asked to leave the facility.  This is the biggest issue we are dealing with.

·        It is recommended that the players use the water fountains at the school for hydration or bring sport cap water bottles only.  Gatorades, Vitamin water, Coffee, etc. are not permitted in the gyms.  Please remember to throw away bottles when empty.  No gum chewing on the courts.

·        Healy’s or any type or skate shoes are not permitted.  The schools are constantly on us because of the marks they leave on the floors and the dangers if someone slips.

It will be very important that the players, the coaches, and the parents work together to make sure that the facilities are left in the same or better condition than when they arrived, and that no horseplay" occurs. It is imperative that parents not bring siblings to games or practices if they cannot be supervised at all times.  Please remember that the gyms we are permitted for are our responsibility and if we do not protect them they can be awarded to another organization.    Thanks for your cooperation.
